"INSIDE THE SUPREME COURT" CONTINUES WITH PROGRAMS IN MAY, JUNE AND JULY
"INSIDE THE SUPREME COURT"
Since November 2013, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Federal Bar Association has been conducting a year-long series called "Inside the Supreme Court." The program is designed to provide an "inside look" at the historical figures serving as Supreme Court Justices in past generations. In each case, the presenter has been a former law clerk for a Supreme Court Justice in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. These presenters have been:
Professor Andrew Kaufman, Harvard Law Professor and Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice Felix Frankfurter,
Professor Norman Dorsen, NYU Law Professor and Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice John Marshall Harlan II,
Barrett Prettyman, Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice Robert Jackson, Felix Frankfurter, and John Marshall Harlan, II,
Professor Robert O’Neill, former President of Virginia University and Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice William Brennan,
David Rosenbloom, Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice Abe Fortas,
Ken Starr, Chancellor of Baylor University and Former Law Clerk for Chief Justice Warren Burger, and
Larry Nichols, Chief Executive Officer of Devon Corp. and Former Law Clerk for Chief Justice Earl Warren.
In less than a year, these programs have resulted in 92 new members joining the FBA Oklahoma City Chapter. In the coming months, the Supreme Court series continues with three new segments:
- May 22, 2014, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Nick Johnson, author and adjunct professor at Iowa Law School, Former Law Clerk for Associate Justice Hugo Black,
